Are you an empathetic, patient and resilient individual looking to make a genuine difference in a young person's life? Pink Tile Education is working with a welcoming and supportive school in Worthing that is looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support for a Year 10 student with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside an experienced Teaching Assistant, supporting a student who has made incredible progress over the past year. While she has previously experienced periods of emotional dysregulation, she has come a long way and is now engaging much more positively in school. The successful candidate will play an important role in helping her continue this positive journey. The focus of this role is building trust, maintaining consistency, and providing the encouragement and reassurance needed for the student to continue developing both emotionally and academically.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing consistent 2:1 support for a Year 10 student with SEMH needs.
- Working alongside an experienced Teaching Assistant to deliver tailored support.
- Building a positive, trusting relationship through patience, empathy and consistency.
- Supporting the student both inside and outside the classroom.
- Encouraging engagement in lessons and promoting independence.
- Using positive behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEN team to ensure the student's individual needs are met.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH.
- A good understanding of mental health and emotional wellbeing.
- Confidence supporting students who may display challenging behaviour or become dysregulated.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
