We are currently recruiting a Food Technician to join a specialist SEMH school in West Drayton from September. This is an excellent opportunity to support the Food Technology department within a supportive school environment, preparing practical lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe, organized learning space. You will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs during practical food technology sessions, creating a positive and engaging learning experience.
The role will include:
- Preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food technology lessons
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe food preparation area
- Managing stock levels and ordering ingredients and supplies as required
- Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH regulations
- Cleaning, maintaining, and checking kitchen equipment
- Supporting teachers and pupils during practical lessons where appropriate
- Helping to create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working in a food technology department, commercial kitchen, catering, or a similar environment
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety practices
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Calm, patient, and flexible approach
- Genuine interest in supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs
Training and ongoing support will be provided.

Pay includes 12.07% holiday pay.
