Role Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, working alongside experienced teachers.
- Develop the skills and knowledge needed to become an effective classroom practitioner.
- Build positive relationships with students and contribute to their academic and personal development.
- Foster curiosity, scientific thinking, practical investigation skills, and engagement within Science.
- Assist with assessing, monitoring, and recording student progress.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
- Engage fully with training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
- Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Ideal Candidate
- Passionate about inspiring and supporting young people aged 11–18.
- Committed to helping students develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning.
- Motivated to learn and progress within the teaching profession.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work collaboratively and build positive relationships.
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
Essential Requirements
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics.
- A-Level grades with a combined minimum of BCC, including at least a Grade B in a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related discipline).
- A 2:2 degree or above in Science or a closely related subject.
- Eligibility to train to teach in the UK.
