We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Burgess Hill, supporting both primary and secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference within a supportive, structured and nurturing environment.
You will be working with pupils who may present challenging behaviour, including both verbal and physical behaviours, so the school is looking for someone who is calm, patient and confident in their approach, with experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
The role will begin through Pink Tile, with opportunities for temp to perm positions for the right candidate. The school would like candidates to attend a trial day before the end of term.
The Role:- Supporting primary and secondary-aged pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with classroom learning and structured daily routines
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation and social development
- Encouraging engagement, independence and confidence in learning
- Managing and responding to challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent way
- Working closely with teachers and the wider support team
- Location: Burgess Hill
- Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Pay: £93.62 – £105 per day (depending on experience)
- Start: ASAP
- Trial Day: Required before the end of term
