We are recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary school supporting young people with autism, located just outside of Burgess Hill. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a supportive setting where you can make a genuine difference to students’ learning, confidence and development. The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to start ASAP, with temp to perm opportunities available for the right candidate.
You will be working within the classroom, supporting students with autism to access learning, build independence and thrive in a structured and nurturing environment.
The Role:- Supporting secondary-aged students with autism in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting the teacher with lessons and daily classroom routines
- Helping students remain engaged, focused and confident in learning
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation and social development
- Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Promoting independence and life skills
- Creating a calm, safe and structured learning environment
- Location: Outside of Burgess Hill
- Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Pay: £106.88 per day

- Driver preferred, although a shuttle bus is available
- Experience supporting children or young people with autism, SEND or additional needs is highly desirable
