We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting in Seaford, working across both primary and secondary age groups. This is a full-time, term-time-only role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a real difference in their education and wellbeing.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation
  • Encouraging engagement and participation in learning
  • Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Assisting with pastoral care and wellbeing support

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, etc.)
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt to challenging situations
  • Understanding of SEMH needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Team Teach or similar training (desirable)
