Pink Tile Education are working in partnership with a specialist Provision in the Burgess Hill area, who are seeking a nurturing, adaptable, and resilient Primary Teacher to join their team from September on a part‑time basis (Monday to Wednesday). This provision supports pupils aged 5–16 who are unable to access mainstream education due to medical needs, behavioural challenges, social, emotional and mental health needs, or other barriers to learning. The setting provides a highly supportive and relationship‑focused environment where pupils are encouraged to rebuild confidence, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning.

The successful candidate will be teaching primary‑aged pupils, delivering creative and engaging lessons tailored to meet a range of abilities and additional needs. Many students may have experienced disruption within education and require consistency, patience, and a nurturing approach to help them feel safe and successful within school. The school are looking for someone who understands the importance of building positive relationships, creating a calm learning environment, and supporting both the academic and emotional development of young people.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be a qualified teacher or experienced unqualified teacher with strong primary curriculum knowledge
  • Have experience working with SEND, SEMH, behavioural needs, or vulnerable young people
  • Be confident managing challenging behaviour, including verbal dysregulation
  • Have a good understanding of mental health and trauma‑informed approaches
  • Be patient, nurturing, and relationship‑focused
  • Be able to adapt learning to meet a range of needs and abilities
  • Be resilient, flexible, and proactive in their approach

The school are also open to candidates with transferable experience from specialist settings, intervention provisions, nurture groups, or therapeutic environments who are passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.

The Role:

  • Teaching primary‑aged pupils within a specialist provision
  • Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Supporting emotional regulation, confidence, and engagement in learning
  • Working closely with pastoral and therapeutic teams
  • Part‑time role: Monday – Wednesday
  • Starting in September
  • Paid to scale depending on experience
