We are currently recruiting for a Primary SEMH Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH primary school in Haywards Heath, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children and helping them engage with learning in a nurturing and therapeutic environment.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom
- Building positive relationships and acting as a positive role model
- Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Encouraging engagement with learning and social development
- Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour is desirable
- Calm, resilient, and able to build strong relationships
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
- Must be a driver with access to a vehicle due to the school's rural location
