We are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist SEMH school in Haywards Heath from September. This is an excellent opportunity to support primary-aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs within a specialist school environment. You'll work closely with teaching staff to help pupils access learning, develop positive relationships and achieve their individual goals.
The role will include:
- Supporting pupils within the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with learning activities and behaviour management
- Promoting emotional regulation and positive engagement
- Encouraging independence and confidence
- Helping to create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within a school or care setting
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A genuine interest in supporting pupils with SEMH needs
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the school's rural location
Training and ongoing support will be provided.
