The Role

As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will work collaboratively with teachers and the SEND team to support children with varying learning, communication, and emotional needs. You will play a vital role in helping pupils build confidence, develop independence, and engage fully in their learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEND
  • Leading and supporting small group learning activities
  • Assisting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other additional learning needs
  • Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Helping children access learning through tailored support strategies
  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

  • Relevant qualifications or training in Education, Childcare, or Health & Social Care
