We are seeking a dedicated and resilient English Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Horsham, supporting secondary-aged students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This role involves supporting students within English lessons, helping to promote engagement, literacy development, and positive learning behaviours within a structured and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support students within English lessons, fostering engagement and literacy development while encouraging positive learning behaviours.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with students, using empathy, communication, teamwork and organisational skills to manage challenging behaviour.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
- Confidence supporting secondary English learning.
- Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- A calm, proactive, and empathetic approach.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
