SEMH schools in the Heathfield and Hailsham area , supporting both primary and secondary-aged pupils . This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing environment where small class sizes allow you to build meaningful relationships and make a genuine impact on young people's lives.
This is a full-time, long-term role with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced teachers and therapeutic staff to support pupils with
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs , helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Your responsibilities will include
- Providing one-to-one and small group support.
- Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence.
- Supporting learning through creative and engaging activities.
- Assisting with personalised learning plans and interventions.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and families to support pupil progress.
- Acting as a positive role model every day.

Essential Requirements
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A patient and resilient approach to behaviour support.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
