We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Guildford, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role involves working in a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment to support students’ learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students in the classroom and around the school
- Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support
- Promote engagement, independence, and learning
- Work closely with teaching staff to implement strategies and interventions
- Support communication, sensory needs, and routines
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development
- Follow all safeguarding procedures
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience supporting children or young people with ASD (or willingness to learn)
- A patient, calm, and supportive approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of autism and supportive strategies
- A proactive and reliable attitude
- A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
