Autism Support Assistant – SEN Primary School in Gosport

Pay: £89–£95 per day
A welcoming primary school in Gosport is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Autism Resource Provision.
You will be supporting children with Autism and additional needs, helping them with communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, and classroom engagement within a nurturing and structured environment.
The role will include:
- Supporting pupils within the school’s Autism Resource Base
- Delivering targeted interventions and structured support
- Assisting pupils to access learning opportunities
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and confidence
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents
- Supporting transitions between classroom and specialist provision
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children or young people
- An interest in Autism, SEND, or child development
- A patient, consistent, and positive approach
- Strong relationship‑building skills
- The ability to work well within a wider support team
This role would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, Psychology graduates, support workers, or anyone looking to begin a career within SEND education. The school offers excellent training and long‑term development opportunities.
