SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in Godalming.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Support pupils with academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
- Help implement and monitor individual learning plans and strategies.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, therapists, and parents where appropriate.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN, is desirable.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
