Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) , you'll play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

The Role

As an Engagement Mentor, you'll build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and help them get the most from their school day. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
  • Encouraging engagement with learning and school activities.
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and emotional regulation.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and calmly managing challenging situations.
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider support team to meet individual needs.
  • Creating a safe, positive and nurturing environment.
  • We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, SEND, SEMH, care or youth work.
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviour.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.
