A specialist all-boys SEMH school for pupils aged 9–16 based in Dorking, Surrey, are looking for a Nurture Thrive Teacher to join their team. You will be supporting pupils with SEMH needs, alongside some additional SEN needs including autism, speech & language needs, and social, emotional and behavioural difficulties within a structured and supportive environment. The role is hands-on, varied, and incredibly rewarding.

The role will include:

  • Teaching a range of subjects and skills to KS3 pupils
  • Planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Supporting pupils with varying academic abilities and additional needs
  • Managing behaviour positively and supporting emotional regulation
  • Encouraging confidence, engagement, and positive relationships
  • Creating a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Ideally experience working within SEMH or challenging behaviour settings
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude

Desirable Qualifications & Training:

  • ‘Thrive’ Practitioner training
  • Professional qualification in the area of special educational needs

Training and ongoing support will be provided.
