A specialist all-boys SEMH school for pupils aged 9–16 based in Dorking, Surrey, is looking for a Nurture Thrive Teacher to join their team. You will be supporting pupils with SEMH needs, alongside some additional SEN needs including autism, speech & language needs, and social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties within a structured and supportive environment. The role is hands-on, varied, and incredibly rewarding.
The role will include:
- Teaching a range of subjects and skills to KS3 pupils
- Planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Supporting pupils with varying academic abilities and additional needs
- Managing behaviour positively and supporting emotional regulation
- Encouraging confidence, engagement, and positive relationships
- Creating a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Ideally experience working within SEMH or challenging behaviour settings
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive and adaptable attitude
Desirable Qualifications & Training:
- ‘Thrive’ Practitioner training
- Professional qualification in the area of special educational needs
Training and ongoing support will be provided.
