We are currently recruiting a qualified Maths Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Dorking from September.
This is an excellent opportunity to teach and support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs within a specialist setting.
You will deliver engaging and accessible Maths lessons, helping pupils to build confidence, develop key skills, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
The role will include
- Planning and delivering high-quality Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs to engage positively with learning.
- Creating a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
- Differentiating lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning styles.
- Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on pupil progress.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, families, and external agencies to support pupil outcomes.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies within the classroom.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience teaching Maths within a secondary or specialist setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs would be advantageous.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as the school is located in a rural area with limited public transport links.
Training and ongoing support will be provided.
