We are working with a welcoming mainstream primary school seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support deaf children within the classroom environment. The Role
- You will work closely with deaf pupils across the school day, helping them to access the curriculum and feel confident and included in a mainstream setting.
- Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support for deaf pupils.
- Supporting access to learning through visual strategies, adapted resources, and inclusive communication approaches.
- Reinforcing instructions, key vocabulary, and lesson content.
- Supporting social communication and peer interaction.
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals (e.g. Teachers of the Deaf).
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and self-advocacy.
- Upholding safeguarding and inclusive practice at all times.
