We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across schools in Chichester and the surrounding areas. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential within a supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Assist students with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement individual learning plans.
  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND (preferred but not essential).
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, health and social care, or SEND support would be advantageous.
