Overview

Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in the Burgess Hill area in their search for a passionate and dedicated MFL Teacher to join their team in September. This is a full-time permanent position teaching Modern Foreign Languages across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, supporting student progress, and contributing positively to the wider school community.

Role Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality MFL lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.
  • Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations through structured teaching and revision strategies.
  • Develop students' confidence and competence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in the target language.
  • Foster an appreciation of different cultures and global perspectives through language learning.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and behaviour for learning.
  • Work collaboratively with the Languages department to plan schemes of work and share best practice.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to support students with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers regarding student progress and wellbeing.
  • Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching MFL at KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and fluency in one or more modern foreign languages.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to supporting student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.

The pay stated is inclusive of the 12.07% PAYE holiday entitlement. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants will be subject to relevant background checks, including an enhanced DBS.
