We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary SEND school in the Burgess Hill area. This rewarding role involves supporting young people with autism, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and develop key life skills in a structured and nurturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous SEND experience who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
There are temporary to permanent opportunities available, with the chance to secure a permanent contract after 12 working weeks, subject to a successful interview with the school.
The Role:- Supporting secondary‑aged students with autism on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with tailored learning activities to meet individual needs
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Working closely with teachers and other support staff to create a calm and engaging learning environment
- Helping students develop communication and life skills
- Location: Burgess Hill area
- Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Pay: £106.88 per day
