Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in Brighton in their search for a confident and adaptable Unqualified Teacher / Cover Supervisor to join their team in September. This is a full-time permanent position working across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absence, delivering pre-set work, and supporting learning across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged in a positive and structured learning environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during the absence of teaching staff.
- Deliver pre-set work and ensure students remain on task throughout lessons.
- Where appropriate, lead learning activities and support students in understanding tasks.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
- Maintain a calm, safe, and focused learning environment.
- Provide guidance and support to students during lessons when needed.
- Report any issues, concerns, or incidents to relevant staff.
- Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by teaching staff.
- Support the wider school team as required.
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote positive student behaviour at all times.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with young people in a school or educational setting is desirable.
- Confident in leading a classroom environment, with strong behaviour management skills.
- Calm, professional, and adaptable under pressure.
- Ability to engage and motivate students to remain on task.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and follow instructions effectively.
- Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
