Pink Tile Education are supporting a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Bognor Regis to recruit a committed Behaviour Support Mentor to join their pastoral and inclusion team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support with behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation.
About the Role
You will work closely with students who present with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and challenging behaviours, providing consistent support to help them re-engage with learning and school life. You will be a key role model, helping to promote positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
- Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups
- De-escalating challenging situations using calm, consistent approaches
- Building positive, trusting relationships with students
- Supporting reintegration into mainstream lessons where appropriate
- Working closely with the pastoral and SEN teams
- Promoting positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working with young people with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour
- Calm, resilient, and confident in managing difficult situations
- Able to build strong, positive relationships with students
- Patient, empathetic, and consistent in approach
- A team player who can also use initiative when required
Experience in a school, PRU, alternative provision, youth work, or care setting would be highly beneficial.
