We are working with an incredible all-boys SEMH school near Billingshurst, set within extensive grounds and offering fantastic facilities for its pupils. The school supports boys with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and prides itself on creating a nurturing, engaging and structured environment where young people can thrive. The school are now looking for a strong Maths Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September.
This role would suit someone confident in Maths who is passionate about helping young people build confidence and engage positively with learning. You will work closely with students across secondary age groups, supporting them both academically and emotionally, helping break down barriers to learning and encouraging progress within Maths lessons.
The Role
- Supporting boys with SEMH needs within Maths lessons
- Delivering targeted 1:1 and small group support
- Helping students engage positively with learning
- Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour within the classroom
- Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage trust and progress
Requirements
- Strong Maths knowledge and confidence supporting the subject
- Previous experience supporting young people with SEND and/or SEMH
- Understanding of mental health and behaviour needs
- Calm, resilient and proactive approach
- Driver essential due to school location
