A friendly and supportive nursery in Bexhill-on-Sea is looking to recruit a caring and enthusiastic Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join their team. This role would suit a Level 2 or Level 3 qualified practitioner who is passionate about supporting children’s development within a safe, engaging, and nurturing early years environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguarding children, staff, and visitors at all times
- Following safeguarding procedures and whistleblowing policies
- Acting as a Key Person for designated children
- Completing observations, assessments, progress tracking, and parent meetings
- Supporting children’s learning and development through play-based activities
- Planning age-appropriate next steps tailored to individual children
- Following the EYFS curriculum and supporting children’s interests and development
- Completing daily planning and contributing to engaging learning environments
- Promoting British Values and supporting initiatives such as “50 Things To Do Before You’re 5”
- Building positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
- Completing daily Famly updates, including meals, nappy changes, and daily feedback
- Ensuring children’s displays are engaging, relevant, and updated regularly
- Supporting indoor and outdoor learning opportunities
- Completing daily risk assessments within rooms and outdoor areas
- Planning outings and ensuring appropriate risk assessments are completed
- Supporting children with SEN and EAL using appropriate strategies and interventions
- Following nursery policies, procedures, and staff ratios at all times
- Attending staff meetings and training sessions as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years
- Previous experience within a nursery or early years setting
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures
- A warm, patient, and positive approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of supporting children with SEN and EAL
- Ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and staff
