A secondary alternative provision in Bexhill is looking for a calm, reliable, and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join their team. The provision supports secondary-aged pupils who may need additional structure, guidance, and encouragement to access learning successfully. This Learning Support Assistant role would suit someone who is patient, consistent, and confident supporting young people who may present with social, emotional, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
The setting has clear routines in place and is looking for someone who can build trust with pupils while maintaining firm but fair boundaries. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupils in lessons, during transitions, and throughout the school day. You will help students stay engaged, manage emotions, and develop confidence in a smaller, supportive learning environment.
Pay range
Per day £94 - £100 depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting secondary-aged pupils within an alternative provision
- Working with students on a one-to-one or small group basis

Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people is preferred
- School, alternative provision, SEN, care, youth work, coaching, or mentoring experience considered
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and behaviour support skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with secondary-aged pupils
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Provide details for reference checks before employment
- Eligible to work in the UK or hold a relevant work visa
