SEND Learning Support Assistant – Specialist Setting in Basingstoke

Pay: £89–£98 per day
Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
A welcoming specialist setting in Basingstoke are looking for a SEND Classroom Assistant to join their team.
You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, moderate learning difficulties, speech & language needs, and sensory processing needs within a nurturing and supportive environment.
The role is hands‑on, varied, and incredibly rewarding.
Responsibilities
- Supporting learning activities within the classroom
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Supporting emotional regulation and communication
- Encouraging independence and engagement within learning
- Helping create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A genuine passion for SEND education
- A proactive and adaptable attitude
- Right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Children’s Workforce (or Children’s & Adults’) update service, or be willing to obtain one
- Provide suitable references for pre‑employment checks
