Pink Tile Education is recruiting for a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Burgess Hill, supporting pupils aged 2–19 years with Autism and a range of associated needs. Your Responsibilities
- Support autistic children and young people throughout the school day.
- Help pupils access learning through personalised activities and structured support.
- Use visual supports, symbols, communication strategies and sensory approaches to encourage engagement.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support children with communication differences, including non-verbal pupils where required.
- Help pupils develop independence, confidence and social skills.
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and fellow Learning Support Assistants to provide consistent support.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience supporting children or young people with Autism (ASC).
- Understands the importance of routine, consistency and clear communication.
- Has experience working with SEND pupils in an education, care or support setting.
- Is patient, calm and adaptable.
- Can recognise individual needs and respond with empathy.
- Has experience using Makaton, PECS, symbols, visual timetables or alternative communication methods (desirable).
- Is confident supporting pupils with sensory needs or behaviours linked to communication difficulties.

Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS.
