We are working with a specialist primary setting in the Alton area that is looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant from September on a long-term basis. This is a nurturing environment supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and developmental delays. The school has a strong emphasis on routine, structure, and creating a safe space where pupils can build confidence and re-engage with learning.
You will play a key role in supporting pupils throughout the school day, both within the classroom and on a 1:1 basis. The role will involve:
- Supporting pupils with SEND across the classroom and in small groups
- Assisting with communication and engagement strategies
- Supporting routines, transitions and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff
