We are a small and friendly freestanding store in the busy but small city of St Andrews, famous for its Golf and University. We are looking for a part-time (3 days minimum) Optometrist to work in our busy free-standing practice in St Andrews. We are flexible regarding hours and days, but some weekend work will be required. Our store has 2 testing rooms and OCT. We have a fantastic, experienced team of 8 with 5 optical consultants, trainee DO and 2 part-time optometrists.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading clinics and delivering outstanding patient care
- Using the latest testing technology to assess eye health and provide expert advice
- Providing enhanced services, from triage support to advanced assessments, depending on store needs
- Offering clinical support to colleagues on the shop floor
- Collaborating with external healthcare professionals
- Keeping your clinical knowledge up to date and sharing it with others
- Playing a key role in your store’s leadership team, bringing energy and insight to every shift
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
- GOC registered (or expecting to be within 6 months)
- NHS performer number (or working towards it)
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- A genuine interest in patient care and team collaboration
It would be great if you also have
- Experience supporting enhanced services
- A strong understanding of local clinical networks
