PingPong Digital is the UK's leading agency specialising in Chinese and emerging-market digital platforms. We help universities, real estate, travel, lifestyle and corporate brands connect meaningfully with Chinese audiences through platforms such as WeChat, Weibo, RED (Xiaohongshu), Douyin and Baidu. We work as a bridge between markets β€” combining deep platform expertise, cultural insight, and practical execution. With offices in London, Birmingham, Shanghai and NYC, our teams operate globally but think locally.

This is a hands-on business development role for someone who enjoys being close to clients, close to ideas, and close to delivery. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging and converting worldwide organisations that want to grow their presence in China (and wider emerging markets). Beyond opening doors, you will actively shape opportunities, working with our strategy, content and platform teams to turn conversations into real, commercially viable campaigns.

Requirements
  • Business Development & Growth
    • Proactively identify new business opportunities across sectors such as education, real estate, travel, lifestyle and others.
    • Research target organisations and decision-makers, tailoring outreach and proposals to their China-market objectives.
    • Manage the full sales journey β€” from first contact to proposal, negotiation and onboarding.
  • Client Engagement (Hands-On)
    • Lead discovery conversations to understand client goals, challenges and internal constraints.
    • Translate client needs into clear, practical digital solutions in collaboration with internal teams.
    • Lead proposal development with strategic input, case studies and platform recommendations.
    • Attend client meetings, events and industry networking opportunities.
  • Market & Platform Knowledge
    • Stay up to date with changes across Chinese digital platforms and advertising ecosystems.
    • Actively learn and communicate why China is different β€” culturally, technically, and commercially.
    • Confidently explain platform logic, user behaviour and realistic expectations to non-China specialists.
    • Take responsibility for coordinating regular marketing outputs (e.g. newsletters, LinkedIn posts).
  • Internal Collaboration
    • Work closely with internal teams.
