We are working exclusively with one of the fastest-growing traditional method wine brands in the UK, collaborating with several of the finest restaurants, independent retailers, gastropubs and 5* hotels throughout the country as well as a number of national retailers, such as Majestic and Marks and Spencer. The business has an ambitious growth plan in place with UK trade development at its core.
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Customer Marketing Manager to join our dynamic marketing team to bring passion, analytical rigour, creativity and focus to all trade marketing aspects of our rapidly growing business. This role is focused on supporting new business development and account management to drive our ambitious UK trade sales strategy.
You will be reporting to our Head of Marketing and working very closely with our UK trade sales team, network of distributors and our management team to bring the brand to life and deliver on our company goals.
Job Role & Responsibilities- Utilising a deep understanding of the UK wine market, its customers and dynamics to transform research findings, trends and insight into clear, concise recommendations for customer listings, activations and marketing campaigns.
- Working with the UK sales team to develop tailored customer marketing plans to successfully win new business and develop existing trade accounts.
- Assist with tender submission documents and presentations ensuring that all documents are aligned with the company’s branding and strategy.
- Working closely with our UK sales team to identify, understand and target high-value customer/prospect accounts.
- Spend time in trade and in customer meetings to understand how the company can add value, proposing customer activations and inspiring initiatives.
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing and wider marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across all customer touchpoints.
- Create and update relevant sales tools and tailor compelling category/brand presentations to the customer audience aligned with brand guidelines.
- Build strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs to develop personalised marketing solutions and brand activations.
- Act as a strategic partner to our UK sales team, providing insight-led marketing support.
- Maintain accurate customer data in our CRM system and use it to inform marketing activity and reporting.
- Oversee the customer marketing budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and clear reporting.
- High level of knowledge of the UK wine market and the dynamics and requirements of the different channels across both On and Off Trade. Experience in premium spirits will also be considered.
- Rigorous analytical approach to understanding customer segmentation, identifying individual prospects and their decision makers, understanding their perceptions and objectives, and creating and delivering customer-targeted presentations with compelling sales rationales and tools to win them over.
- Ability to generate new, creative ideas and suggestions to successfully drive sales and activate the brand in an engaging way and in line with brand positioning.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence in presenting information to a wide range of audiences from sommeliers to retail buyers, tailoring the message for impact.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and deliver results on time to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in creating visual tools to develop compelling and informative graphics for presentations.
- Agility to adapt to changing market conditions and company priorities, always seeking creative solutions to drive results.
- Attend sales meetings and customer meetings where required, adding value.
- Confidently present to a range of customers and distributor partners.
- Salary range offered circa £40-50k+ p/a depending on experience.

This role is home/field based, but the successful candidate will need to be able to travel to the office, at least one day per week, and during busy periods will require a flexible approach to working hours.
