The Opportunity

Ping International Recruitment is working with a leading international engineering consultancy with an established track record spanning almost 40 years and operations across international markets. As part of its continued growth strategy, the business is now looking to expand its presence in the UK and is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join its Southampton office. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional with a Civil Engineering or Infrastructure background to play an important role in developing the company's UK market presence, building client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and developing the company's UK business development strategy, with a particular focus on identifying new opportunities, developing relationships with key clients and helping establish the consultancy as a recognised name within the UK market.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities across the UK civil engineering and infrastructure sectors.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Developing a strong understanding of market opportunities, competitors and potential clients.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of the company's UK business development strategy.
  • Managing the opportunity pipeline and contributing to tender and proposal activities.
  • Representing the business at industry events, meetings and networking opportunities.
  • Working closely with technical and operational teams to identify opportunities and develop appropriate solutions for clients.
  • Supporting the long-term growth and development of the UK operation.
