As a Ping Identity Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be involved in maintaining our Cloud-based services. You will take ownership of operational maintenance. In this role you will be responsible for managing the customer environments, fulfilling service requests, onboarding new customers and upgrading existing environments. We follow a DevOps model: Development and Operations teams are integrated, running continuous deployments daily, and the teams collaborate in the solution's development, deployment, and operations.
You Will:
- Manage customer environments and ensure their uptime, performance and security.
- Fulfill service requests related to customer environments to perform normal day to day operational tasks. This can include configuration changes and access requests.
- Onboard new customers by setting up their environments, configuring standard settings and working with the customer to set up connectivity.
- Upgrade and audit existing customer environments to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest software versions, patches, and security standards.
- Monitor the environment for issues and work with the support organization to troubleshoot in the event of issues.
- Collaborate with the development team to deploy new releases to customer environments.
- Document all procedures and maintain an up-to-date knowledge base for other team members.
Report to the PingOne Advanced Services Software Development Manager.
You Have:
- 5+ years of experience in scalable, distributed systems architecture.
- 2+ years of experience with Cloud Platforms including AWS or GCP.
- 1+ years experience in working with Terraform.
- 2+ years experience with containerization technologies, including Docker.
- 1+ years experience with orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated service deployments, including provisions for networking, security, reliability, management, reporting, and configuration management.
- Basic understanding of best practices for deployment automation.
- Experience using Git in a team environment (merge requests, branching, push, and pulls).
You will have an advantage if:
- You have an in-depth understanding of networking, including routing, naming, security, network performance, and network failure modes.
- You have an in-depth understanding of the HTTP protocol.
- You have an understanding of PKI.
- You have experience with instrumentation and management of automated deployments.
- You have experience resolving customer deployment issues.
- You have experience with Python and Bash scripting.
- You have worked with distributed teams.
