Reporting to the Senior Compliance Officer, the Health & Safety Compliance Officer will be responsible for maintaining the statutory compliance of Shepperton Studios and Pinewood Studios, arranging inspections, maintaining records, for allocating remedial works to the Facility Services department and following up to ensure the works are completed.
- Organise surveys, inspections and physical testing of various aspects of the Groups assets in line with Statutory requirements.
- Management of multiple contractor’s activities on site in line with company requirements, which includes ensuring all paperwork has been accepted and in place prior to any works commencing.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and filing of compliance documentation as required by statute, relating to various Inspections which are carried out.
- To log and follow up to completion any compliance remedial work using our in-house Facility Services Department or relevant specialist contractors (with a view to ensure Compliance with relevant legislation).
- To work with other Departments, Tenants and Productions when planning any works.
- Keep abreast of legislation changes to ensure Compliance.
Nature and scope
The role involves organising and scheduling of Shepperton Studios and Pinewood Studios Statutory Compliance legislative requirements, which include but is not limited to, Water Hygiene and Legionella management, Stage Lifting Equipment (LOLER), general work equipment (PUWER), Heating system safety aspects, Inspections of Pressure systems and Workshop Extraction systems (LEV).
Some of these occur on a rolling basis throughout the year, others are at set intervals e.g. annual dependent on the relevant legislative requirement. In depth technical knowledge of these systems is not required, specialist contractors carry out the inspections, but a baseline sufficient level of understanding of the statutory requirements is needed to be able to manage the contractors.
The role requires a high level of organisational skills to ensure the relevant inspections are carried out in the required timeframes, and a good working relationship with other parts of the operations team for arranging access and ensuring remedial works identified are carried out.
Skills and experience
- Nebosh General Certificate in Health & Safety or NQF/QCF/SCQF Eqv
- Experience of Water/Pressure vessel/lifting systems.
- Baseline knowledge of statutory requirements
- Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. Able to work unsupervised, uses initiative, Team player
