Role Summary
Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety, Fire and Compliance (HSFC), the Group Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for leading the Health and Safety team (including apprentices), ensuring compliance with Health and Safety laws and instilling a positive culture of Health and Safety across all UK sites.
Principle Accountabilities
- Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health or safety of employees, tenants, clients, contractors and members of the public
- Monitor, maintain and periodically review all health and safety policies, processes, safe systems of works and risk assessments. Ensure procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated
- Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting
- Responsible for quality assurance activities that assess the effectiveness of the safety management system such has workplace inspection and audit schedules
- Liaison and support for productions, tenants and internal departments to ensure best practice H&S management is implemented across the sites
- Managing emergency procedures and planning including responding to incidents, investigating accidents in a timely manner to ensure that facts are identified and preventative and remedial actions are taken. Report incidents to relevant authorities where required and liaise with such authorities in relation to investigations
- Responsible for the wellbeing and development of the Health and Safety Advisors
- Responsible for health and safety related training across the organisation. This includes delivering the training, developing an annual calendar of toolbox talks and working with HR to select e-learning modules
Skills and Experience
- NEBOSH or NCRQ Diploma or NVQ Level 6
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- CertIOSH membership
- Experience of managing Health and Safety in Real Estate and/or Construction
- Experience in managing a diverse team, including mentoring
- Understanding of statutory requirements and their application
- Sound ability to implement sensible safety controls that are operationally practical
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and attention to detail
- Strong decision making and influencing skills
- Able to commute from, to and between Pinewood and Shepperton Studios to meet the business needs
- NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate
- Experience of managing H&S in compliance with HSG65 and ISO45001
Other information
- Role location: Pinewood and Shepperton Studios – the role is predominately a site-based role due to the nature of the job and therefore not suitable to frequent working from home days.
- Competitive starting salary and discretionary annual bonus of up to 15% of salary.
