We are seeking an experienced and proactive Construction Health & Safety Officer on behalf of our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture across multiple construction sites, ensuring compliance with UK health & safety legislation, and supporting site teams in maintaining safe working environments. The role involves regular site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, and operatives to ensure all activities are carried out safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies
  • Prepare and review RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety training
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses
  • Maintain accurate H&S documentation and reports
  • Advise managers and site teams on best safety practices
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance on-site
  • Support implementation of CDM Regulations 2015

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
  • IOSH membership or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience within construction health & safety
  • Good understanding of CDM Regulations and RIDDOR
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and across multiple sites
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
