Pineapple are on the hunt for a commercially-minded Financial Controller to join our Clients Senior Management Team and take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations. This is a high-impact role within a successful, Worcestershire based company, that will see you report directly to the Board/Finance Director. You will be tasked with bridging the gap between technical accounting excellence and commercial strategy, ensuring the finance function is "best-in-class" while supporting the wider business in achieving its long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Direct management and mentoring of the finance function, fostering a collaborative environment and driving professional standards across the team.
- Financial Control: Full oversight of the month-end process, ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet and the delivery of accurate, timely management information.
- Planning & Analysis: Coordinating the annual budgeting process and providing insightful forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
- Compliance & Audit: Managing the year-end statutory process, tax compliance, and maintaining a robust internal control framework.
- Business Partnering: Acting as a key advisor to non-finance department heads, translating complex data into actionable commercial insights.
- Systems & Change: Identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance reporting tools, and improve overall departmental efficiency.
Your Profile
We are seeking a proactive, fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will ideally demonstrate:
- Proven experience (7 years +) in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager capacity.
- A natural ability to lead and develop people, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence at a senior level.
- A methodical approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.
