Pineapple Careers is delighted to be partnering with a well-established School on the outskirts of Horsham to recruit a Maintenance Person on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and established site team, helping to ensure the buildings, facilities and wider grounds are maintained to a high standard throughout the year. You play an important part in keeping everything running safely and smoothly!
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out day-to-day repairs, maintenance and refurbishment across the site
- Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks and routine checks
- Undertake basic plumbing, decorating, carpentry and general building maintenance
- Assist with basic electrical maintenance where appropriate
- Identify maintenance issues and respond to routine and emergency repairs
- Carry out health and safety and compliance checks with appropriate training provided
- Support the maintenance and day-to-day operations of the swimming pool and associated equipment
- Assist with general caretaking duties and ad hoc site cleaning when required
- Help prepare facilities for school events and any third-party hire of the school
- Support the grounds team with general maintenance tasks when needed
- Liaise with colleagues and external contractors to ensure work is completed effectively
- Ensure tools, equipment and materials are used safely and responsibly
- Maintain consistently high standards of health and safety
Key Skills:
- Proven experience within maintenance, facilities, property, building services or a similar hands-on environment
- Good general practical and DIY skills
- Basic plumbing knowledge is desirable
- Electrical knowledge or experience would be advantageous
- Comfortable carrying out decorating and general repair work
- Confident using a range of hand and power tools
- Proactive self-starter with enthusiasm for delivering high-quality results
- Flexible and willing to take on a diverse range of tasks to support the school
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety
- Holds a valid UK Driver’s Licence
- A full DBS check is required for this role

Salary & Benefits:
- £30,000
- Permanent, year-round position
- Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 16.30
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
