The IT Manager manages the Society’s technology infrastructure and applications, oversees the work of independent contractors providing network monitoring, security, and back‑up services, provides support to the Pine Tree Society staff on IT‑related requests and training needs, and supervises the IT Help Desk Support Analyst. This position includes responsibilities that include evaluating proposals, controlling costs, managing the help desk, providing direct IT support to staff, an understanding of the internal network, being an Office 365 administrative expert, and having oversight of the Society’s telephone system.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assesses IT systems and partners with various levels of management to plan and execute technology improvement initiatives.
  • Manages the IT help desk by prioritising IT support requests received to address user issues in an efficient and cost‑effective way.
  • Identifies short‑ and long‑term objectives for the IT department.
  • In cooperation with Finance, develops operating and capital plans for the IT department.
  • Provides IT orientation to new team members and coordinates their IT technology and applications needs (telephones, Office 365, and user accounts).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Information Technology related bachelor’s degree preferred, or comparable training and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in network administration and IT support.
  • 3 years minimum experience in Information Technology.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and resolve computer and network system equipment issues in all Pine Tree Society locations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical terminology at a level appropriate to the audience.
  • Ability to deal with multiple, changing priorities and interruptions in a multi‑faceted work environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency in the use of cloud‑based applications including Office 365 and workstations.
  • Ability to organise time effectively and remain flexible to effectively meet competing demands.

Location

Hybrid location with requirement to be present as needed and in person at Pine Tree Society locations (currently Bath, Scarborough, Auburn and as needed Pine Tree Camp in Rome).
