Pine Media is an independent Internet Service Provider based in Sheffield. We build and operate our own FTTP network, providing service to businesses and residents in South Yorkshire & Derbyshire. We utilise a combination of PIA and our own infrastructure, with a fully in-house Fibre Network Delivery (FND) team handling cabling, civils, jointing, and Lead to Cash (L2C). This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple disciplines and develop specialised skills to advance your career within our growing network.
We are seeking a proactive Fibre Delivery Operative to join our team in Sheffield. This hands-on role involves working as part of a team to support the delivery of our expanding network, including installations, maintenance, and network expansions.
Key Responsibilities- Support the deployment of our FTTP network across a variety of locations.
- Conduct overhead and underground fibre Distribution Point (DP) installations (CBT/FDP) and route cabling back to planned joints.
- Assist in expanding the network capacity and reach by installing high COF cable / BFT between nodes.
- Participate in the maintenance and repair of the network.
- Identify and resolve network issues efficiently to minimise service disruption.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including NRSWA regulations.
- Continuously enhance technical knowledge and skills through ongoing training opportunities.
- Prior experience in fibre installation, network maintenance, or a similar field-based role is beneficial but not essential.
- A valid UK driving licence held for at least two years.
- NRSWA Street Works Operative Unit 2 card, SA001, SA002 (beneficial but not essential).
- Basic knowledge of fusion splicing, fibre routing, and Openreach network is an advantage.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and practical problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn.
- Type: Full-time (Permanent PAYE).
- Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience (PAYE).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, with on-site work within 1 hour of Sheffield.
- Company phone and all tools.
- 28 days paid holiday (increasing to 32 after six months), pension, cycle to work scheme, sick pay, and home broadband after six months.
