Waste Recycling Assessor £13.48 per hour Lymington Help improve recycling and waste management in your community by assessing processes, reducing contamination, and encouraging better recycling habits. Main Duties * Visit homes and new developments to check bin numbers and suitability * Record findings and escalate issues to senior staff when needed * Work with residents, crews, and other stakeholders to improve recycling behaviours * Travel across the New Forest District to carry out site visits * Use the council’s ICT system to gather and update data * Keep accurate, real-time notes to support enforcement cases * Work flexibly, including some early mornings, evenings, and weekends What We’re Looking For * Experience in waste management is helpful, but full training is provided * Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping * Good communication skills for working with the public and colleagues * Access to your own vehicle (mileage paid at £0.65 per mile) If you’re passionate about sustainability and making a real difference, this role offers the chance to have a direct impact on improving recycling in the area
