Job Overview: We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our food retail team in a versatile customer-facing role. As a Retail Assistant (also referred to as Sales Assistant, Checkout Operator, or Store Team Member), you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, operating tills efficiently, and supporting various store operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently scan product barcodes and accurately weigh fruit and vegetables where applicable
- Process daily transactions through the till using both cash and card payments
- Accurately handle returns, refunds, and membership card processing
- Support the Checkout Supervisor with till opening and closing procedures
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting with enquiries in a friendly and professional manner
- Collaborate with colleagues and support other store departments when required by management
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- Strong communication skills with a customer-first attitude
