Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Supervisor to oversee the horticultural maintenance and development of the landscaped areas at Lakeside Shopping Centre. This role requires strong technical horticultural knowledge, excellent organisational ability, and proven leadership skills.

The Supervisor will manage the on-site gardening team, ensuring all works are delivered to the highest standard, on time, and in line with contract requirements. Acting as the main point of contact for the client, the Supervisor will maintain clear communication and ensure the site presents a consistently professional appearance.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan, organise, and oversee all grounds maintenance activities, including mowing, pruning, planting, weeding, and irrigation.

* Supervise, support, and motivate the on-site gardening team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.

* Develop and implement seasonal maintenance programmes and planting schedules

.• Monitor plant health, soil conditions, and pest or disease issues, taking remedial action when required.

* Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure all areas meet contractual and company standards

.• Liaise directly with the client and site management to discuss progress, upcoming works, and improvement opportunities.

* Manage site resources, including ordering plants, materials, and equipment as required.

* Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety policies and procedures at all times.

* Maintain accurate site records, including completed works, staff hours, and material usage.

* Provide on-the-job training and guidance to support others in their development.

Requirements

* Level 3 qualification in Horticulture (or equivalent) essential

.• Proven experience in a Supervisory or Senior Gardener role.

* Strong plant knowledge and understanding of horticultural best practices.• Excellent leadership, communication, and client liaison skills.

* Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage workloads effectively.

* Competent in the safe use and basic maintenance of garden machinery and tools.

* Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

* Full UK driving licence is essential
