Pre-Press Manager Portsmouth Negotiable Pin Point Recruitment are looking for a Pre-Press Manager to join a manufacturing company based in Portsmouth. The company have been a winner of the Independent Print Industry Association’s Manufacturer of the Year. They run a investment programme that enables them to introduce technology that is more energy efficient and less wasteful for a more sustainable future. As the Pre-Press Manager you will play a pivotal role play in the production process, requiring a strong understanding of pre-press, finishing, and printing operations. Pre-Press Manager Job Role: * Help in the day to day running of a busy Pre-press department. * Set and monitor targets. * Train and motivate prepress staff to meet targets and requirements of the business. * liaising with clients and account managers. * Action pre-flighted of customer-submitted files as part of the automation * Troubleshoot any issues and, where necessary, correct files using Adobe Creative Cloud software products and Enfocus/Heidelberg plug-ins. * Communicate any queries or problems with production team members and account managers and ensure all client requirements are documented on Print IQ(MIS system) * Prioritise and manage workflow, ensuring all jobs are completed on time and within schedule. * Following all relevant health & safety, environmental and quality requirements when completing work. Pre-Press Manager Skills Required: * A good knowledge of MacOS and Windows systems * Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products, namely Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro and Photoshop plus Heidelberg and Enfocus Pitstop plug-ins. * Previous experience with Heidelberg and Print IQ MIS (or similar software). * A high level of attention to detail and understanding of colour. * An excellent understanding of impositions and print production processes and practices. * Minimum of 3 years pre-press experience carrying out similar functions. * Ability to adapt and function as part of a larger team. * Willingness to train and learn new skills as needed.
