Mechanical Design Engineer Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience) Location: Gateshead We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing company working on a variety of innovative mechanical design projects. The Role You will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical parts, assemblies, and machinery components from concept through to manufacture. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you’ll play a key role in creating efficient, high-quality designs to support production and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and machinery. Create 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Work closely with production and project teams to ensure designs meet requirements. Contribute to design reviews and continuous product improvement. Support prototyping and testing of new components and systems. About You HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Design. Proven experience in mechanical design within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Proficient in SolidWorks and/or other 3D CAD software.
