Quality Manager Location: Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire Permanent | Full-time | Office based We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager to join an established international engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Kirkbymoorside. This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for leading all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across the manufacture, assembly, testing and delivery of complex engineered products. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead the site Quality team and take ownership of the Quality Management System, customer and supplier quality, auditing, non-conformance management and continuous improvement. The Role Key responsibilities will include: * Lead all QA and QC activities across manufacturing, assembly, testing and product delivery. * Ensure quality requirements are embedded throughout the full product lifecycle, from contract review and manufacture through testing, delivery and aftermarket support. * Maintain, manage and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and relevant customer and industry requirements. * Act as the site's Management Representative for Quality. * Manage all internal and external quality audits, including planning, scheduling, reporting and corrective actions. * Maintain ISO 9001 certification and relevant customer quality approvals. * Lead customer quality interactions including audits, witness testing, concession requests and quality performance reviews. * Manage investigations into non-conformances, customer issues and quality concerns. * Lead root cause analysis and implementation of appropriate corrective and preventative actions. * Analyse quality data and performance metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement. * Define and maintain appropriate standards and procedures for inspection, testing and product acceptance. * Take responsibility for final product acceptance testing and prevent shipment of non-conforming products where necessary. * Ensure robust material, component and manufacturing traceability. * Develop and improve Supplier Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes. The Person We are looking for an experienced Quality professional with a strong background in a complex engineering or manufacturing environment. You should have: * Previous experience in a Quality Manager, Senior Quality Engineer, Quality Lead or comparable senior quality position. * Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. * Lead Auditor training. * Experience managing internal and external audits. * Experience working directly with both customers and suppliers. * Knowledge of typical project quality requirements including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans (QPs). * Strong experience of non-conformance management, root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions (CAPA). * Experience within a multi-discipline manufacturing environment. * Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining and fabrication. * Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * A technical, engineering or manufacturing qualification would be advantageous, although candidates with significant relevant Quality experience will also be considered. Desirable Experience Experience in some of the following would be advantageous: Project-based or engineer-to-order manufacturing. Implementing or developing a Quality Management System. Supplier Quality / Supplier Development. Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. PDCA, DMAIC, Six Sigma, 5S or TQM. Managing and developing a Quality team
