Mechanical Technician – Hydraulic Clean Room, North Tyneside Up to £40,000 | Permanent | On-Site We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our dedicated hydraulic clean room team in North Tyneside. This role is focused on the assembly and testing of hydraulic systems and components in a controlled environment, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, precision and safety are maintained. If you have proven experience in subsea hydraulic assembly and testing, and you’re looking for a permanent position with technical challenge and stability, we’d like to hear from you. As a Mechanical Technician in the hydraulic clean room, you will be responsible for assembling and testing hydraulic assemblies in line with company procedures, working from detailed parts lists and engineering drawings. You’ll handle complex builds involving large steel fabrications, cylinders and operating systems, ensuring that all equipment is assembled to exacting standards. A key part of this role is maintaining strict clean room protocols and contributing to the smooth flow of high-quality hydraulic assemblies through production. The ideal candidate will have an HNC qualification or equivalent experience, with a strong background in hydraulic assembly and testing, ideally in a subsea or heavy engineering environment. You should be a proactive team player with excellent attention to detail, confident decision-making skills, and the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced setting.
